Female Athlete- Foot pain

 

I can’t thank you enough for giving me my life back!  Most people don’t realize what it means to be able to walk pain free, until you lose the ability to walk without pain.  For at least 5 years, I was unable to walk more than 10-15 minutes without sharp stabbing pains and numbness in the bottom of my feet and toes.

When the pains first started I had a podiatrist take a look.  From there I was sent for numerous testing  including;  x-rays, blood testing, nerve conduction testing, ultrasounds, and I even saw a vein doctor.  Unfortunately, no test turned up any cause for the pain.  At one point I worked with physical therapist, for a short time with no results.  Massage therapy, expensive shoes, expensive foot supports did little to nothing.  I was told that I will have to live with the pain and just to try and walk through it to stay active.

I loved to dance and rollerblade, but any activity including walking was so unbearable after about 10-15 minutes, I gave up trying.  It never made sense to me why doctors could not find a reason for the numbness and pain.  Every so often I would go towards alternative therapy like acupuncture or homeopathic remedies.  Nothing worked, but fortunately I didn’t give up trying to find a solution.

I found a therapy called A.R.T. which sounded like it was something that could help me and so I found you listed in the directory of certified practitioners.   Fortunately, I decided to go to your office because A.R.T. is not the only type of work you do.  With your expertise in so many backgrounds, you were able to pull from all of your knowledge to begin working on my issue.

The very first night I went home, I could tell there was a difference in the way my feet supported my body.  After just a couple of weeks, I decided to try walking around the block to test out and see how far I would get.  I made it around the entire block with minimal numbness in only one foot!  I remember telling my husband over and over again, “I think I’m going to get my feet back!”  I was just amazed and in disbelief after going so many years with this problem and seeing such quick progress with you.  After a little bit I decided to try rollerblading and see how that went.  My first try allowed me to blade for about 20 minutes before any symptoms!

As days went by, the time increased for walking and rollerblading.  I can now walk for a little over an hour without numbness/pain and about 45 minutes rollerblading!  Again, I can’t thank you enough for giving me my life back!  I am just now starting to get back into shape, as I had gained about 20 pounds due to the inability to be active.  As you know, I have recommended just about anyone who has any type of pain, especially pain that has gone undiagnosed, to go see you.

I am so happy that I did not give up in my search for a solution.  I am so appreciative that you made the choice to be in your field and study all the years you have.  Your combined experience has changed many lives, I am sure.  Thank you for changing mine.  See you soon.
